Applications for DUCK’s teams is now open! We are currently recruiting a series of teams to help us organise our events, expeditions and activities for 2017/18. Applicants can be from any year group, college and course, we are looking for outgoing, enthusiastic and dedicated people who have an interest in raising money for great causes. Below are descriptions of the different teams you can apply to join. If you’d like to apply all you have to do is write an email sent to email@example.com by Wednesday 18th October 2017. Please include in the email your first and second choice of DUCK teams and within a maximum of 300 words outline why you’d like to get involved and you think you’d be good for the role. Get involved with the most exciting and adventurous part of DUCK! DUCK Challenges is looking for a team of around 9 students who pro-active, creative, organized and dedicated to making a difference. From Jailbreak, to Formally Lost, to the newest addition to our calendar: The Everest Trek, DUCK Challenges is at the heart of the Durham experience, and you could be part of it. Use this wonderful opportunity to gain invaluable skills and experiences, as well as a social relationship with the other team members and the DUCK family that will make your university experience unique!
Can you go the distance with DUCK this year? Endurance deals in world-renowned marathons, mammoth cycle rides across Europe, really wild canoeing adventures and scaling peaks like there’s no tomorrow. We are looking for energetic all-rounders who will not be phased by any task. Whether it is advertising, marketing, budgeting, logistics or fundraising that gets you going, we need your expertise to take our events to the next level. Being part of the team would also offer you the opportunity to work with many incredible people, from your fellow students to charity workers across the country. Are you up to the challenge?
Famous for its wild socials, kick-ass events, and outrageous organizational skills, the events team is unique to DUCK: the one place you can party while still raising £££ for charity. This year we have loads of amazing things planned, including our renowned club nights, annual Big Band Ball, DUCK Race, as well as new additions such as College Swaps and a potential DUCK FESTIVAL on Palace Green…which you don't want to miss out on. I'm looking for people in my team who are committed (willing to dedicate lots of time and energy to DUCK), super organised (get shiz done when it needs to be done), and most of all, people who know how to have a good time! Like a creative challenge and following a brief? Are your insta captions consistently fire and you back yourself as a social media king/queen? Do you enjoy learning about photography, videography or graphic design? If so, get involved in the Publicity team!Get involved in every area of DUCK, working with other teams to ensure events reach everyone in the Durham community. If you want to play an active role in shaping our look and perception and are creative, fun and collaborative, I want to hear from you! I'm looking for well-connected people who want to work together and learn new skills with a good sense of fun, so all the fab work DUCK does can reach the whole uni!
You can get involved in DUCK in your college in 2 ways; as a DUCK rep (chosen by each college’s JCR- ask your college for details!) and in a new role- DUCK Liaison Officer for your college. Each liaison officer will be required to publish on JCR pages and use social media to advertise each of DUCK’s events, expeditions, endurance events and challenges. You’d attend meetings with the other officers and will be informed of all of DUCK’s activities and can feed back to the college charity team. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for details!
