GETTING INVOLVED WITH DUCK
TAKE PART IN A DUCK EVENT
Taking part in DUCK events is easy to do and a great experience!
The DUCK teams are in place to offer a large, completely diverse set of events for Durham students and staff. Over the course of the year we try to engage with as many people as possible to raise large sums of money for fantastic charities. This year we have the Events, Challenges, Endurance and Ragraid teams who will run events throughout the year to test, thrill and excite! In doing so we are supporting wonderful charities throughout the UK and beyond and we’re very excited for the year ahead. Be it growing moustaches for Movember, taking on the Tough Guy challenge, partying in your back to school attire, running the London or Paris Marathon, or canoeing across Scotland, we believe there’s something for everyone.
Please follow the relevant tabs (above) to find out more about this year’s individual events.
Volunteer abroad on one of our expeditions where you get the chance to experience a new culture.
Become a member of a DUCK team
Within DUCK there are some key teams which are in charge of organising the events run throughout the year. Joining one of our teams is a great way to get involved in the fantastic work DUCK does whilst having fun and gaining valuable experience.
The following team leaders are now recruiting:
Application Deadline: Sunday 16th October at 8pm.
I’m looking to recruit a small team of five or six people. If you’re interested in getting more involved with DUCK, joining the Endurance team is the perfect way. I’m looking for an organised, creative and enthusiastic team who are willing to give up a few hours every week to help with all aspects of these events – anything from fundraising support or recruitment drives to becoming a team leader or even composing the perfect training playlist. If you would like to join, please send 150-200 words to firstname.lastname@example.org explaining why you want to join the team and what you think you can bring to the role. Good luck!
Application Deadline: Saturday 15th October at 8pm
If you’re creative, love social media or want to be part of a team that helps with everything DUCK does then apply to be on the publicity team! As a team we will work together with other teams to publicise all the events DUCK runs and try to get as many people to take part as possible. Your role will be varied and flexible – it could be designing posters, directing videos or keeping people interested in DUCK on our social media. If you would like to apply please write 100 – 250 words on why you would like to be on this team, what skills you can bring to the team and any experience you may have. Send this to email@example.com. Good luck!
Application Deadline: Sunday 16th October.
